I saw the article in the Modesto and just had to respond. I spent the first 55 years of my life as an atheist. I had never gone to church and did not read the Bible. I had no Christian friends or family.
My eyes were opened in my own home one day while I was reading a book. I cannot think of anything that could have opened my eyes to belief except God. All of my thinking did a turn of 180 degrees in a matter of minutes. In the ensuing months I had a great appetite for the knowledge and Truth of God. After a period of some months I was compelled to seek out a church. I have been a "born again" Christian now for 3 1/2 years. It is something that I would never have believed could have happened to me. It was quite a shock to all of my family and friends also. It has changed my life completely. The peace and joy of a loving God in my life is so different from anything that I had ever experienced before. I pray now that all atheist will come to know this wonderful God.
