Dear Editor,
I like to help keep the Atheist community informed as much as I can. A few days ago I sent the following letter to the Mayor of Sidney, Ohio. I have not heard the first word back from his office. I did however send a copy of this letter to two local papers (Sidney Daily News, and the Dayton Daily News). And one copy went to American Atheists. When I write letters to government officials I do my best to show a more positive side of Atheism, not a hateful side.
If I ever do hear anything back from the Mayor, I will pass it on to you if you like.

Letter To The Mayor Dear Mayor Thomas Miller, I have a quick question. When is Shelby County and the City of Sidney going to show some respect for the separation of state and church. We should allow all groups to use the court house lawn as the Christians do, or an even better solution would be for our government to adopt a neutral position and not allow any group to display its ideas. The Christians don't speak for everyone. As an Atheist, I am offended that my government (federal, state, and local) would choose one group (Christians) to have the right to speak for all. Please show some compassion for all the non-Christians that you also represent. We are left out, as usual. Thank you for your time. Rodger Hearn |
