Hello,
This note is addressing one of the letters to the editor labeled "Religion and the Military" written by MSgt. Mick Fulton. I thought he would like to know that there is an organization called MAAF "The Military Association of Atheists and Freethinkers". It's highly unknown.
My husband spent 8 years in the military (released in 1995) and we never heard of the organization. We discovered it about 2 years ago and were very shocked due to the military's position on religion. (Chaplains handed New Testaments out to all soldiers leaving for the Gulf War....My husband refused his, but they stuck it in a "care package" anyway).
I just thought that you could pass this information on to MSgt. Fulton and any others that are interested.
A Happy Reader!
Sonya
