Cliff,
I want to say that Gary Sloan's "Did Jesus Exist ... And Does It Matter?" in the March 2001 Positive Atheism is one of the best brief summaries of this issue that I have ever seen. I grieve at the unwillingness of those who wrote to him to open-mindedly consider the information that he was trying to suggest about Wells' research in the field.
