To whom it may concern:
After decades of civil rights movements and protests and arguments, this nation has proved one thing: That when push comes to shove, only the mainstream ideas are acceptable, screw the others during a crisis. We have come this far and for what? So all the people who fight for religious rights and freedom from religion are imposed upon by the entire nation to join in a "National Day of Prayer" due to a tragedy? While it pales in comparison to the recent tragic events, this is actually another small tragedy in itself going on right now. It says: "We'll humor your desire to be 'alternative' most of the week, but when it really matters, you don't."
In MY opinion, that's the problem with traditional folks (sorry), although the problem list is not limited to them. So many in my experience have been ethno-and egocentric. Very little respect for persons who suscribe to uncommon or non-mainstream lifestyles or beliefs, and most can barely rationalize the Eastern lifestyle, for example: "They're just different, honey, pay no attention." I have actually heard this statement before. And we are being overrun by this mentality! In fact he's in the Oval Office now!
Non-denominationalism also should include non-denomination no religion.
My sympathy for those who have been personally afflicted by this event, as I have been so. I am still looking for my old best friend from whom we have not yet heard.
"Freedom of religion includes
freedom from religion."
