In New Zealand,
They'd Be Laughed
Right Out The Door
Look, Mr. Editor, you being American and all that, those of us who are not American citizens living in other countries seem to be constantly shaking our heads and saying "it could only happen in America." If anybody tried to pass such a bill in my country, New Zealand, he or she would be laughed out the door.
I have a lot of respect for the US but sometimes I just shake my head.

You too? Join the club!
The up-side of the situation is that you get to watch from a distance: we live here!
Seriously, what we're trying to do here is what you've already accomplished over there. How can we encourage the people of the United States to laugh characters such as this right out the door? Any suggestions as to how we can initiate such change?
